In the beginning, the earth was without form and void of politics, and it was good.
For millions of years before the dawn of mankind, the earth existed without politics. However, when Og the caveman decided to campaign for the affection of Ig the caveman’s wife, the practice of politics was born. Og, incidentally was clubbed over the head repeatedly by Ig, thus ending his early political ambitions.
Not much has changed in politics since this first, very primitive campaign season, though the issues and the manner in which one politician clubs another over the head have changed quite dramatically.
At any rate, this guide intends to shed a little light on the quirks and quibbles of modern politics without any regard for the reader’s opinions on the issues. One will not find partisanship here, but an equal opportunity skewering of politics in the United States. If you are easily offended, it would probably be best for you to go watch cat videos right now.
By way of a disclaimer, should you find anything in this guide that you disagree with or in fact know to be false, please do remember the golden rule first laid out in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, “The Guide is definitive. Reality is frequently inaccurate.”
